My Whole Life

I was born to reflect the image of a God who is powerful enough to create my universe, attentive enough to hear my prayers and loving enough to be defined by self-sacrifice. I find my greatest fulfillment on a journey toward purpose and wholeness.

Rest

When job and family and financial responsibilities press in and it all seems like too much, there is an answer! It's in the Bible, Matthew 11:28-30, NIV. "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

God gives us an example of rest. It is important to maintaining a balanced life. It's in the Bible, Genesis 2:3, NIV. "And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done."

Rest makes true worship possible. It's in the Bible, Exodus 20:8-11, NIV. "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Rest is a gift from God and part of His ultimate plan. It's in the Bible, Hebrews 4:9-11, TLB. "So there is a full complete rest still waiting for the people of God. Christ has already entered there. He is resting from His work, just as God did after the creation. Let us do our best to go into that place of rest, too, being careful not to disobey God as the children of Israel did, thus failing to get in."

There is rest in your salvation. It's in the Bible, Isaiah 30:15, NIV. "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength."
